Google Maps is amazing, and this is more of a 'performance' bug than a 'correctness' bug, but if you search (2015/09) for transit directions from Truckee, CA to San Francisco, CA, it does a little dance in Sacramento that is fascinating:

Just take an Amtrak bus from Truckee to the Sacramento Amtrak Station. Then walk 3 minutes, take the 30 bus one stop, walk 1 minute and arrive... at the Sacramento Amtrak Station.
